Cereal is overwhelmingly packaged in a rectangular box, but this Froot Loops cereal packaging design switches things up with a polygonal aesthetic. Featuring ten sids and a fold-out pouring spout, the packaging is intended to stop spills from occurring in the morning; the worst time to make a mess.

Designed by Prachi Deshingkar and Shikha Kanakla of the MIT Institute of Design India, the Froot Loops cereal packaging design features a clear window to see the inside. The fold-out flap that allows the cereal to be poured is multicolored to copy the likeness of the brand character Toucan Sam.

Although the packaging is merely conceptual at this time, it holds significant promise for being a fresh way to update traditional packaging preconceptions.
